Pakistan releases Rs 50 coin to commemorate Guru Nanak's 550th birth anniversary

Pakistan govt on Wednesday released a commemorative coin to mark the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, founder of the Sikh religion.

According to the reports, the coin worth Pakistan Rupees 50 will be available at the Kartarpur Sahib along with postage stamps with an image of the Gurdwara Janam Asthan for Rs 8.

The coin comes ahead of the inauguration of the Kartarpur corridor by Prime Minster Khan on November 9.

Last week, after a round of several talks for the past eight months, Pakistan and India signed an agreement on the Kartarpur Corridor. The PM will inaugurate the corridor on November 9, after which the corridor will facilitate the Sikh community to visit their most revered place in Pakistan.

The year 2019 marks the 550th birth anniversary year of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev, whose birthplace is Sri Nankana Sahib in Pakistan.
