Pandharpur Wari 2019: Webpage to give live details about palkhis, road closure and traffic diversion

A web page has been started by the Pune traffic police to provide with live information about the movement of two palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Maharaj

The Pune Traffic Police has started a web page to provide with live information about the movement of two palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Maharaj. It will also give details of road closures as well as traffic diversions from Monday.

As per the Deputy Commissioner of police (traffic), the palkhis would arrive in the city on Wednesday. He also said five roads have been closed down to facilitate the arrival of the palkhis in the city. Vehicular movement on several roads has been diverted. He added that this year parking facilities will be provided to people who come down to Pune from nearby cities like Mumbai, Ahmednagar, Nashik to offer prayers.

He said the webpage would be continuously updated from Monday to allow people to see the location, traffic diversion, and blockages for the next three days.

Also, the police have written a letter to the airport officials of different airlines to provide continuous alerts to the passengers expected to fly down to the city on these days.

Dehu phata stretch and Yelwadi Phata Driver Dhaba of Chakan-Talegaon road will be closed to traffic on Tuesday diverting vehicles to Talegoan-Dehu Road.

On Monday, Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi left from the main Vitthal Rulmini temple in Dehu around 4:30 pm on Monday to mark the beginning of its annual journey to Pandharpur.
