A total of 188 Indian athletes participated in the 3rd edition of Asian Para Games.

Indian contingent had put on a grand show and won a total of 72 medals in the Games, fifteen of these are gold, 24 silver, and 33 bronze. India finished 9th in the overall medals tally.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with medal winners of the Asian Para Games, including Nidhi Mishra.

“PM Modi’s Tweet about my achievement was very important and it has given me a lot of confidence,” says Nidhi. She also speaks about Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore’s facilitation and how emphatic it was. Nidhi says that Sports Minister being himself a former international level sportsperson understands our genuine requirements and needs, and his interest to promote sports is commendable.
