Patanjali, Flipkart, Reliance among 10 most influential brands, Google tops list

Patanjali Ayurveda, has been listed among the 10 most influential brands in India together with electronics giant Samsung and new entrant Reliance Jio, as per a study by global research firm Ipsos.

While Google was ranked at top of the list, followed by Microsoft and Facebook, domestic giant Patanjali and Mukesh Ambani’s regulated Reliance Jio bagged the fourth and ninth position in Ipsos’s list of most influential brands. Both the companies were absent in the previous edition of the study.

The study that evaluated more than 100 brands across 21 nations, covered over 1,000 Indians online to measure more than 100 brands. The research involved 36,600 interviews.

Ipsos Public Affairs and Loyalty Executive Director, Parijat Chakraborty said, “The most influential brands are larger than life. They enhance our lives – make it better. We connect with them emotionally and cannot imagine our lives without them – they are influential.”

Here are other companies that featured on the list:

State Bank of India (SBI) was the only financial institution that made to the list. It moved up four ranks to take the fifth position. E-commerce giant, Flipkart is at the tenth spot while Amazon climbed a couple of steps to take the sixth place. Other brands that made to the list include Samsung (seventh) and Airtel (eighth).

The brands were rated by the consumers on quality, experience, and value.
