Patna Sahib has more round pegs than round holes; who could be BJP's candidate?

With the Lok Sabha elections nearing Patna Sahib Seat has become the most talked constituency of Bihar. Now, when it is almost clear that the Bharatiya Janata Party is not considering the present MP Shatrughan Sinha to give a ticket to fight from this constituency, then the question arises that who will be the candidate to replace him. However, there seem to be more round pegs than round holes in BJP to claim for this seat.

The senior BJP leaders look quite displeased with Shatrughan Sinha’s recent statements against BJP. It is believed that Sinha is increasing his closeness with the opposition camp. This has surely annoyed BJP senior leaders and it is almost certain that BJP is not going to give him party ticket to contest in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Now, when Shatrughan Sinha is not a candidate, then what will the BJP give the ticket here? The list of claimants in the party is long. Many leaders consider themselves as contenders.

Ravi Shankar and Nand Kishore at the forefront

The name of Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has surfaced as the strongest candidate for this constituency. Whereas, road construction minister of Bihar government and local MLA Nand Kishore Yadav is also considered to be a strong contender.

Naval Kishore and Nitin Navin strong claimant

Senior BJP leader and spokesman Naval Kishore Yadav’s name is also in the top list of claimants. If the candidates are to be sought from backward castes then in such a situation, Naval Kishore Yadav may also be the party’s choice. Besides, BJP nominee and youth leader Nitin Navin is also included in the list.

Arun Sinha’s name is also doing rounds

Senior BJP leader and MLA from Kumharar, Arun Sinha also believes himself to be a strong contender. His claim is also said to be strong due to his belonging from Kayastha caste. Arun Kumar is also the chief whip of the party.

Cannot ignore Caste equation

According to Arun Kumar, whoever is given the tickets from this seat will definitely win. Though he has left the decision in party’s hand to reach to a conclusion that who should be given ticket to fight from this constituency.
