Bollywood actor, Sitaram Panchal, who has acted in movies like Peepli Live, Jolly LLB 2and Paan Singh Tomar, is battling cancer and struggling to pay for his treatment.

The actor mentioned about his illness in a Facebook post on Monday morning.

“Bhaio meri help karo meri cancer se halat kharab hoti ja rahi hai apka kalakar bhai sitaram panchal”, he wrote.

Reportedly, the actor has been suffering from kidney and lung cancer since 2014.

“Initially, he used to work and we could make ends meet. But now, he does not even have the strength to stand up,” said Uma, Panchal’s wife.

Thanks to the Facebook post, many people from the film industry came forward to offer help to the actor by raising funds.

Cine & TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) also posted a message on its Facebook wall.

Panchal has been offered assistance by many producers/directors.

Masaan and Dhanak producer, Manish Mundra, has promised to bear the medical expenses of the actor.

“In a developed world, where population is miniscule, a proper healthcare plan and insurance policies are devised to take care of individual well-being. Since we are not well-equipped in this regard, we should contribute to society in our own way. Thanks to social media, we can now reach out to those in need and vice versa,” Mumbai Mirror quoted the filmmaker as saying.

Other industry friends who have lent a helping hand to the actor include filmmaker Krishan Hooda, Mukesh Bhatt and Anusha Rizvi, are among the other industry friends who are willing to help Panchal.

Several actors have also come forward to seek help for Panchal on social media platforms.
