The twitter banter between Virender Sehwag and Piers Morgan continued on Friday. The Nawab of Najafgarh is in the UK for charity events and is spending his time, playing cricket to raise funds and visiting other places.
Sehwag along with his former teammate Harbhajan Singh, commentator Harsha Bhogle and Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia made a trip to London where they visited the Emirates stadium, home of English Premier League club Arsenal.
The cricketer tweeted a photo of himself in Arsenal’s dressing room and this was picked up by Morgan who replied, “Can you stay in there & play up front tomorrow? We need some explosive firepower.” Arsenal hosts Chelsea in Gameweek 6 of the English Premier League on Saturday.
The British journalist, an ardent Arsenal fan, has recently had many run-ins with Sehwag on twitter regarding India’s performance at the now concluded Rio Olympics.
Morgan had taken to Twitter slamming India’s performance at the 2016 Olympic Games. The 51-year-old made fun of India’s jubilation at receiving two medals in the Olympic Games despite having a 1.2 billion population. He faced severe backlash from Indians who targeted his twitter account in response to the criticism. Several celebrities including Viru also responded to the British journalists’ social media activity targeting India.
Sehwag’s reply to the tweet is still awaited.
