PlayStation Plus Price Update: The Japanese tech colossus Sony announced a price increase for PlayStation Plus annual subscriptions earlier this month. The primary reason for the price increase was to continue providing the service with high-quality games and value-added features. The price increase went into effect on September 6, and the new prices are quite pricey.
PlayStation Plus by Sony is a subscription service that competes with Xbox Game Pass. The service enables users to play online multiplayer games, access a catalogue of games similar to Netflix, play games in the cloud, and more.
Sony has announced new prices in foreign currencies, and following the implementation of the price increase, we now have updated prices in Indian currency.
PlayStation Plus Price Update: Sony PlayStation Plus Extra Cost Increases
PlayStation Plus subscriptions will be discounted from June 2 to June 12 during Days of Play 2023.
The PS Plus Essential 12-month plan’s price has increased from Rs 2,999 to Rs 3,949, according to the PlayStation website. The 12-month PS Plus Extra bundle is now priced at Rs 6,690, up from Rs 4,999. The 12-month PS Plus Deluxe bundle price has risen from Rs 5,749 to Rs 7,599.
The Deluxe and Essential tiers’ prices increase by 32%, while the Deluxe tier’s price rises by 34%. It appears that the 1-month and 3-month PS Plus plan prices remain unchanged. It is important to note that the new 12-month membership costs will remain lower than those of one-month or three-month subscriptions purchased over the course of a year.
Current PS Plus subscribers have nothing to worry about, as the new rate will not take effect until their next renewal on November 6. Upgrades, downgrades, and subscription extensions will be subject to the newly established pricing structure.
The Essential tier provides players with a monthly assortment of complimentary games and substantial discounts on PlayStation Store-accessible titles. Subscribers who upgrade to PS Plus Extra have access to everything in the Essential category as well as a vast selection of games for the PS4 and PS5 consoles. Last but not least, PS Plus Deluxe offers the greatest value, with access to iconic titles from the PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 eras, as well as cloud-based streaming capabilities.

PS Plus Monthly September Games
Sony has failed to provide a convincing explanation for the price increase. While the premium PS Plus subscription allows you to test out new games for up to two hours, the quality of the monthly free games has declined in recent months.
Saints Row is a gentle relaunch of Deep Silver’s street crime franchise set in the fictitious badlands of Santo Ileso, replete with eccentric characters, neon-lit environments, and an abundance of explosives. Upon its release, it was criticised for being uninspiring and plagued with game-breaking bugs.
This month’s additions include the sandbox MMO Black Desert and the open-world 1980s-themed Generation Zero, which pits you against hazardous robots. The three complimentary games will be available for download until October 2, after which active PS Plus membership will be required to continue receiving access.
