Responding to the statements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemning the violence of cow vigilantes, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said the remark of PM Modi will not make any influence unless the NDA government led by him takes action on such groups. He said PM Modi should walk the talk to put an end to the ferocity.

Owaisi also pointed out that this is the second time PM Modi expressed his views on such violence. “It is the second time PM has spoken but didn’t have the desired effect because Gau Rakshaks get direct/indirect support of BJP/Sangh nothing will change on the ground (sic),” Owaisi said on Twitter.

“PM statement is mere lip service as there has been a slip between cup & lip so long an animal has a higher premium killings of human beings,” the Hyderabad MP further added.

Slamming PM, Owaisi said it is the first time that the government fixed more stringent action for the killing of an animal in comparison to humans. The incidences of lynching were mostly reported from the BJP-ruled state. So, if the PM Modi is serious, his government must take action against cow vigilante groups.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi made it clear that killing people in the name of “gau bhakti” was unacceptable. “As a society, there is no place for violence,” he said.
