In yet another heinous incident, a minor was allegedly raped by a police constable in Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh.
The incident is said to have been to have happened on Saturday. A 17-year-old girl was going to her uncle’s place when Upendra Trivedi met her on the way. He offered to drop her to her uncle’s place in his car, where he used the excuse to rape her.
He took her to the police lines, where Trivedi and his friend, a constable, raped her.
The minor girl somehow managed an escape and informed her uncle of the incident. He then reported the matter to police, Fatehgarh Kotwali in-charge, Anup Nigam, said.
An FIR has been registered against the constable and Trivedi, the officer said.
