In a protest against SC/ST in Bihar, Swarna community members took out a procession and surrounded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence in Patna on Friday. However, police retorted to lathi-charge leading to severe injury to many protesters. Serious injury on heads of protestors and other journalists have been reported.

Chairman of the Bhumihar Brahmin Ekta Manch, Ashutosh Kumar, alleged that a special caste was being targeted and there are attempts to break their unity across the country.

“We will not let it happen to us. In a phased manner the agitation will continue till the caste reservation is not done in the country. He said that today’s Bhumihar Brahmin has become a minority,” said Ashutosh Kumar.

He also said that Nitish government has been taking its political advantage but the answer will be given in the next election. According to reports,  the plan was to surround the Chief Minister’s residence from the Gandhi Maidan in Patna today, but police stopped him near Ramgoolam Chowk.

All agitators sat on the streets protesting for hours and stopping the demand for the elimination of caste reservations, while the police lathi-charge for peace arrangements in which many people’s heads were torn apart. So many journalists have also been injured.
