Politicians, Twitterati slam Modi government over railways surge pricing

After the government introduced the surge pricing system on the Rajdhani, Duronto and Shatabdi trains on Wednesday, there was slamming from politicians on this move. The decision also experienced a wave of anger from Twitterati.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal opposed the surge pricing and demanded that it should be rolled back.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia while replying to Rahul Kanwal on twitter said that railways are also for those who are not rich and every common man is not rich.

The Congress party said that surge pricing is a ‘preposterous move by the government’. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over rail surge pricing saying Modi’s model is “rob common people and give relief to some industry friends”.

RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav also took a jibe saying common man is not expecting such decisions from the government.

Congress MLA Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted that surge pricing is Modi government’s ugly gift to India, during festival season.
