The postmortem report of Pradyuman Thakur, who was murdered at a school in Gurugram has revealed that “shock and haemorrhage” were the reasons behind his death, according to ANI. The report also stated that external injury caused by single-edged sharp weapon and its consequences were enough to cause death in the normal case of nature.

The Haryana government on Friday has recommended a CBI probe into the case and has taken over its management for three months. The announcement was made by chief minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, after he met Pradyuman’s family members. He also offered his condolences to his family.

Khattar said, “This incident (the murder of Pradyuman) was unfortunate… Today I came here to meet the family. There was a demand from the family members and several others for handing over the case to the CBI for investigation,” as per PTI. He also said that the Haryana police has been thoroughly investigating the case. “Despite that and in view of the demand, this case is being handed over to the CBI for a probe. I appeal to the CBI to investigate the case as expeditiously as possible,” he added. The school bus conductor Ashok Kumar emerged as the prime suspect and was arrested the same day.

According to the police, Ashok had gone to the washroom to relieve himself when Pradyuman entered. He allegedly tried to sexually assault him but when he started screaming for help, Ashok panicked and pulled out a knife and slit the child’s throat.
