Criteria for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana Eligibility

  • The age requirement is 18 years at a minimum.
  • The upper age limit stipulated is seventy years.
  • Those who maintain a savings account are in good standing to purchase the policy.
  • It is necessary to attach the bank account to the Aadhaar card.
  • Individuals who possess multiple savings accounts are restricted to enrolling in the scheme via a solitary bank account.

PMSSY Advantages

1) The coverage for accidental mortality insurance is annually renewable.

2) A coverage of up to 2 lakh is payable to the nominee of the subscriber in the event of his or her demise or entire disability resulting from an accident.

3) The subscriber is permitted to either opt for the long-term option or renew the scheme annually.

4) The subscriber is free to re-enroll at any time in the future and may withdraw from the program at any moment.

5) Additionally, the premium paid may be deductible under Section 80C for the subscriber. The amount insured, up to Rs. 1 lakh, is exempt from taxation under Section 10 (10D).
