PUBG Mobile has announced yet another collaboration today, this time with Mclaren. The popular battle royale frequently teams up with a host of other brands, but this marks the first occasion they have partnered with an automotive company.
The collaboration will see players able to take the McLaren 570S Coupé sportscar for a spin in-game. It’s a highly regarded car for its exceptional power to weight ratio, and in PUBG Mobile, players can choose between six different finishes before heading out for a test drive. They will include McLaren-Gold-plated Ivory, McLaren-Kingdom of Gold and McLaren-Fantasy City, among others.
Aside from the car itself, players will also find a plethora of Mclaren content in the game over the next while. This will include the McLaren 570S Coupé as a parachute and the McLaren Exhibition Hall on the Classic Erangel Map. On the latter, players can open the doors of the cars in the exhibits to search for useful items.
Discussing the collaboration, said Vincent Wang, Head of PUBG Mobile Publishing, Tencent Games said: “PUBG MOBILE is well known for its innovative gameplay, while McLaren is a brand known for innovation, and pushing boundaries in the automotive field.”
They added: “It’s incredibly important that we collaborate with forward-thinking companies that will bring real value to our players, in any field. This is the first time we’ve collaborated with an automotive brand, and we’re delighted to be taking these first steps with such an iconic luxury brand like McLaren.”
