Pundri is one of the 90 constituencies to go for polls for Haryana Legislative Assembly on October 21. It is situated in the Kaithal district and is a part of the Kurukshetra parliamentary constituency. Dinesh Kaushik is the current MLA of Pundri.

In the 2014 Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Haryana Legislative Assembly) Elections, Independent candidate Dinesh Kaushik defeated BJP candidate Randhir Singh Gollen by nearly 5 thousand votes.

Out of the 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana, 17 are reserved for Scheduled Castes as per the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008.
