Punjab: Navjot Singh Sidhu walks blindfolded for a noble cause in Chandigarh

Punjab minister and eminent speaker Navjot Singh Sidhu on Thursday in Chandigarh grabbed the attention of many people, as former cricketer walked blindfolded on the roads of the sector-17 plaza. An event was organised by Dialogue Highway Trust,’ to make people realise what kinds of problems the visually impaired face’. Along with around 50 blind persons and 250 students and prominent persons including Sidhu walked for around 500 metres with their eyes covered with a black cloth. Apart from Minister Navjot Singh Siddhu, Chandigarh Mayor Devesh Maudgil and IGP Sanjay Beniwal also participated in the walk.

The organisers stated that in addition to explaining the citizens with the problems the blind persons faced, the walk also helped the public, how to help the visually impaired. “There is no better way to understand the plight of someone than going through what he or she goes through,” the secretary of the club said.
