Rahul Gandhi arrives in Jaipur: Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, arrived here on Saturday on a day-long visit. Gandhi was welcomed at the Jaipur airport by Rajasthan’s chief minister Ashok Gehlot, the Congress’ state coordinator Sukhjinder Randhawa, and Govind Singh Dotasra, the party’s state unit leader.
On Saturday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi will speak to party members in the Mansarover neighbourhood of Jaipur and lay the cornerstone for the new Pradesh Congress Committee office.
Govind Singh Dotasra, the state president of the Congress party, declared on Friday that “this programme will give us more strength” and that the party will retain power in the state.
Rajasthan is scheduled to hold its legislative elections later this year.
