Silver idol of Lord Ganesha, sacred symbols stolen from Thane temple

Silver idol of Lord Ganesha: An official claimed on Saturday that the police in Thane, Maharashtra, have started an investigation after a silver statue of Lord Ganesha, other precious objects, and money were stolen from a temple.

The police reported that the crime occurred on the night of Thursday and Friday at the Jai Bholenath temple in the Naupada neighbourhood.

The official from Naupada police station claimed that a 7 kg silver Ganesha statue, a ‘trishul’ (trident), a metal serpent, copper utensils, a table fan, and money were all taken from the shrine.

He stated that no arrests have been made as of yet and added that an investigation is ongoing.
