The AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi directed eight TN Congress MLAs to vote against the Edappadi K Palaniswami government during the trust vote in the Tamil Nadu assembly on Saturday. The move has ended uncertainty and suspense on his party’s stand.
Significantly, this was officially told to Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president S Thirunavukkarasar late evening.
Earlier in the day, Thirunavukkarasar, who met with his MLAs at the party headquarters in Chennai, informed reporters that the high command would take a call later.
“We will meet again at 9 am on Saturday morning and taking a final decision,” said Thirunavukkarasar to reporters. He denied tweets credited to him that the party had definite to vote against the Palaniswami government.
