Rajasthan: 12 Independent MLAs, former BJP leader Ghanshyam Tiwari join Congress

Jaipur: In a shot in the arm for the ruling Congress regime in Rajasthan, 12 Independent MLAs along with 7 others, including former senior BJP leader Ghanshyam Tiwari joined the party ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The politicians joined the grand old party in presence of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday evening.

One of the prominent Rajasthan leaders who has played a significant part in the establishment of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ghanshyam Tiwari had left the BJP after differences mounted with the then chief minister of the state, Vasundhara Raje.

He had floated Bharat Vahini Party party ahead of the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections which failed to register any victories. Ghanshyam Tiwari is a six-time MLA and has won the Sanganer seat three times consecutively before tasting defeat in the 2018 Assembly elections.

  • Raj Kumar Gaur (Ganganagar)
  • Ramila Khadiya (Kushalgarh)
  • Ramkesh (Gangapur)
  • Sanyam Lodha (Sirohi)
  • Suresh Tak (Kishangarh)
