Ahead of Rajasthan polls, incumbent BJP faced another major setback, as former Speaker of the state assembly Sumitra Singh on Thursday joined the Congress in Jaipur.
Senior leader joined the Congress in the presence of AICC General Secretary Avinash Pande, Rajasthan Congress Chief Sachin Pilot, former Chief Minister of the state Ashok Gehlot.
Singh, who has been the member of the legislative assembly for nine terms, was the speaker during the first tenure of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Rajasthan polls are scheduled for December 7 and results will be declared on December 11.
