Rapping instead of caroling? This Sri Lankan church’s guffaw is hilarious!

To err is human, right? Well, church service organizers are human too as was seen recently at a Sri Lankan church. Churchgoers were in for a rude shock when they attended a Christmas carol service on December 11. Instead of the usual ‘Hail Mary’ carol, the printed leaflets had rapper Tupac Shakur’s version of ‘Hail Mary’ replete with the N-word, female genitalia, and instances of violence and profanity.

“A lot of people were in shock as whether it was a joke or someone would actually rap the song. A few of the older ladies in front of us could not stop looking at the printed booklet,” said Andrew Choksy, who attended the Joy to the World service, to CNN.

The Archdiocese of Colombo and the Joseph Vaz Trust organized the event. Father Da Silva, from the archdiocese, apologized for the error caused by a young boy, who had printed the wrong version by mistake.
