While many parents and children have been celebrating the flying scores in CBSE class 12 board exams, few who secured average or eve less, have been struggling. The mental pressure of lower marks have not only brought embarrassment to the children but has forced them to take extreme steps many time sin the past.

Unfortunately, a class 12 student identified as Prayas, allegedly hanged himself to death on Thursday after receiving low marks in one subject in the CBSE Class 12 exam.

Going by the reports, the 18-year-old boy who used to live with his family in Adarsh Nagar area of Roorkee, was upset about the low marks in board exams following he hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his house on Thursday evening when other family members were out of the house.

The deceased was spotted by the family only upon their return late in the evening. He was then rushed to a hospital but declared dead by doctors.

Reports suggest that no suicide note was recovered from the incident spot.

Police received information of the suicide from hospital authorities and said they could not ascertain more details since his family was still in shock and unable to talk to the police.

The Central Board of Secondary Education had released Class 12 Board exam results on Thursday, May 2 for all the regions with the overall pass percentage being 83.4 per cent.

Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora were declared joint toppers with each scoring 499 out of 500.
