Qualcomm chip “Snapdragon SM8625”: Qualcomm may be developing a new Snapdragon 8 Gen processor. It’s not the recently rumored Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Rumors instead indicate that it might be a scaled-down Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship processor.

A trustworthy leaker, Digital Chat Station, recently posted information on Weibo regarding a new chip with the codename SM8625. The chip most likely belongs to the Snapdragon 8 series, despite the tipster not disclosing the chip’s official name.

Qualcomm Snapdragon SM8625

According to the leaked information, the chip boasts an Adreno 735 GPU and an ARM Cortex X4 core clocked at an impressive 2.9 GHz. Additionally, the tipster revealed that its AnTuTu score is higher than 1.7 million. In terms of raw performance, this score, if accurate, would put the SM8635 ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. We therefore speculate that it might be a scaled-down Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 model.

But according to recent information from another leaker, Roland Quandt, Qualcomm is developing two chips that are similar to the SM8635 and SM7675. This raises some questions regarding the SM8635’s place in the Sndpargon lineup.

The most potent chipset in the Snapdragon 7 series, according to Digital Chat Station, is reportedly the “SM7675,” which stands for the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.

Several smartphone models feature the SM8635 chip, despite the unclear information surrounding it. Upcoming phones to look out for are the iQOO Neo-series, Redmi Note 13 Turbo, and Poco F6. These models are definitely using this chip. Allegedly, the Poco F6 is one of the models that will use the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip, as initially expected.
