Saharanpur will see a repeat as far as the candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress in concerned. Raghave Lakhanpal, the sitting BJP MP will be contesting to win the Lok Sabha elections from Saharanpur for the second time.
The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place across seven phases, with eight constituencies to go for elections in the first phase on April 11, as announced by the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on March 10.
The Election Commission of India announced that the general elections will begin on April 11, with the last phase taking place on May 19, the results is slated to be announced on May 23.
Uttar Pradesh has a total of 80 Lok Sabha constituencies.
Elections in the Saharanpur constituency will take place in the first phase of the General Elections 2019 on April 11.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Raghav Lakhanpal registered a victory by more than 65 thousand votes. He polled 4,72,999 votes to Congress candidate Imran Masood’ 4,07,909.
