Indian Tennis player Saketh Myneni won the third qualifier round against Serbia’s Pedja Krstin in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0 on Friday. With this win, Myneni has advanced to the main draw in the 2016 US Open tournament.

Saketh Myneni, who is ranked 143 in the ATP chart, defeated France’s Albano Olivetti and USA’s Mitchell Krueger in the first two rounds. The third qualifier match hardly lasted for 56 minutes.

Myneni, 28, could not qualify the third round in this years’ Australian Open and he was ousted in the second round of French Open.

Now, he will face World No 48 Jiri Vesely from Czech Republic in his next round.

If he wins against Vesely, there are high chances that Myneni might get to play against World No 1 Novak Djokovic.

The last Indian to play in singles main draw was Yuki Bhambri in 2015 Australian Open. In the event, Bhambri lost against Britain’s Andy Murray in the first round. Currently, Bhambri is ranked 171 in the world.
