Samsung introduced today PRO Ultimate, its new premier UHS-I memory card series for professional photographers and content creators. For increased dependability and efficiency, the memory card is available in both microSD and standard-sized SD formats.
With sequential read speeds of up to 200 MB/s and write speeds of 130 MB/s, the new PRO Ultimate microSD card is now available worldwide, whereas the PRO Ultimate SD card won’t be available until October 2023.
The Samsung PRO Ultimate microSD card is available in three storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with MSRPs ranging from $20.99 for the smallest model to $64.99 for the largest. PRO Ultimate SD cards will be offered in four capacities: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with MSRPs ranging from $18.99 for 64GB to $84.99 for 512GB.
Customers can also purchase a card reader with the microSD and SD PRO Ultimate card variants.
With the fastest read/write speeds in its class, the Samsung PRO Ultimate enables a seamless transmission of heavy files such as 4K ultra-high definition (UHD) and Full HD (FHD) video with support for Video Speed Class 30 (V30).
The upgraded controller provides dependable performance and increased durability, while the multi-proof protection features ensure safer data storage for extended periods of time.
In addition, the new cards provide up to 72 hours of water protection at a depth of two meters, a drop-proof design from up to five meters, wear-out protection for up to 10,000 swipes, and X-ray, magnetic, and impact protection.
The Samsung PRO Ultimate, which features a new 28nm controller, is 37% more power efficient than Samsung’s previous lines, which utilized a 55nm controller.
The Samsung PRO Ultimate SD card is compatible with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, camcorders, personal computers, and laptops. In contrast, the PRO Ultimate microSD card is highly compatible with Android mobile devices, handheld game consoles, action cameras, drones, PCs, and more.
