Sangam Vihar Road Closure:The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a new traffic advisory which declares that all roads in Sangam Vihar will be closed until April 3, 2026. The current construction work creates temporary restrictions which require residents to schedule their travel times to prevent traffic jams and service interruptions.

The advisory has been issued to address the construction of an approach road and side drain which will extend from H-Block, Shiv Mandir to the Karni Singh Shooting Range according to official and media reports. The Irrigation and Flood Control Department is executing the project which will disrupt traffic across major arterial routes in South Delhi.

Sangam Vihar Road Closure

The traffic restrictions have been in effect since March 14, 2026, but a complete road closure phase began on March 25 and will continue until April 3, 2026. The construction activities will result in severe vehicle restrictions because certain areas will be inaccessible to traffic during all hours of the day according to the construction schedule.

Key Roads Affected in Sangam Vihar

The advisory identifies important routes which will experience interruptions throughout peak traffic times. The list of affected roads includes MB Road which runs toward Faridabad, the access road to Karni Singh Shooting Range, and Pul Prahladpur Road which also extends to Faridabad. The roads function as primary transportation routes which link South Delhi with Faridabad and surrounding regions, so their effect becomes more important.

Authorities have predicted that office hours will bring about dangerous traffic conditions because of the excessive vehicle flow which occurs at these locations.

The advisory main point includes the total shutdown of the roadway which connects to the Karni Singh Shooting Range. The route will face complete vehicular restrictions from March 25 until April 3, which represents the most important traffic control measure established in the current traffic management system.

The Delhi Traffic Police has established various diversion points to control traffic flow because they expect heavy congestion on the roads. The red light intersection at Karni Singh Shooting Range on MB Road and the main entrance of the shooting range will face traffic re-routing.

Suggested Alternate Routes

Commuters should stay away from the affected areas and take Pul Prahladpur Road to Suraj Kund and nearby internal roads as their only alternative. The main affected corridors will experience reduced traffic because these alternative routes will create less congestion.

The authorities have issued a strong advisory which requires commuters to create their travel plans before peak hours in order to decrease their travel difficulties. Motorists should avoid using Sangam Vihar during construction work and they must follow all traffic rules.
