Expanding its usage, selfie trends has crept into many government sectors including hospitals, schools in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. After a school in Uttar Pradesh, now doctors in Munger district of Bihar have also been asked to submit their selfie to mark attendance. Making the best use of technology in the workplace, this initiative is aimed at bringing more transparency to the system.

The government hospital in Munger has initiated a unique move where all 74 regular doctors, 530 auxiliary nurses, A-grade nurses, and other para-medic staffs will have to mark their attendance via selfie from Friday.

State Principal Secretary of Health, Sanjoy Kumar has given a thumbs-up to the Munger District Magistrate Anand Sharma’s idea of ‘Selfie-Attendance system’. Among doctors, physicians, surgeons, eye specialists, orthopedics, skin specialists, and dental surgeons will have to register their attendance by clicking their selfie.

“As the principal secretary (health) Sanjoy Kumar has okayed my selfie-attendance order, I’ve directed Munger civil surgeon Dr Yogendra Prasad Bhagat to ensure regular attendance by all regular government doctors and para-medical staff, including ANMs via selfie from places of their postings everyday,” DM Anand Sharma said.

Selfie trend in School

Before Munger hospital, the selfi-attendance trend crept into the classrooms of a government school in Uttar Pradesh. The teachers of the school were asked to take selfie with their students in the classroom to mark attendance.
