Indian stock markets began weakly on Monday, September 16. The S&P BSE Sensex index touched 37,112.79 below by 272 points in the early trade, while NSE Nifty dropped below the 11K levels to read 10,988.85, down 87.05 points from the previous close. Midcap and smallcap also trading lower.
Sensex at 10:45 AM, reads 37,161.84 (−223.15) points, while Nifty stands at 11,011.00 points (−64.90).
BPCL, IOC, HPCL, M&M, SBI, Equitas Holdings, Asian Paints, Yes Bank, RIL, were among top losers at the start of the trading session, while Indiabulls Housing, BEL, ONGC, GAIL gained.
Except FMCG and IT, all sectors are trading in red.
