On Wednesday, the Separatist leader Nayeem Khan was detained at the Srinagar airport while on his way to New Delhi. He was held by the police at the airport when he was on his way to board a flight to New Delhi. He was apparently on his way to take part in the Pakistan Day celebrations at the Pakistan High Commission on Thursday.
After detaining, the leader was taken to Police Station Saddar after which he will probably be moved to his house where he is to be kept under house arrest, a police said. Notably, the separatist leaders, who have participated in the Pakistan Day celebrations in the past, are currently under detention inside their homes or in jail.
Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Shabir Ahmad Shah are among the top leaders put under house arrest while JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik is currently lodged at Central Jail Srinagar.
