Conflicting reports suggest that one or two assailants were shot by police outside the UK parliament in London.
At least a dozen people were injured in the incident that took place on Westminster Bridge near UK parliament, Reuters reported.
“We were called at approx 2:40 pm to reports of an incident at #Westminster Bridge. Being treated as a firearms incident — police on scene,” London Metropolitan police said.
A police officer has been stabbed in the Houses of Parliament in central London, Commons Leader David Lidington was quoted by BBC as saying.
Westminster underground station has been shut at the police’s request.
Staff inside Westminster were told to stay in their offices, Telegraph reported
