Ayushmann Khurrana starrer celebrated its good weekend but by the start of the week it faced a major drop and the drop further continued on Tuesday too. As the film collected only Rs 3.07 Crore on Tuesday and thus is expecting to gain the total amount of Rs 44 Crore by the end of the week.
The film has collected the amount of Rs 39. 60 Crore and on its release date the film gained Rs 9. 55 Crore and on its first Saturday it showed an increase and thus collected Rs 11.08 Crore. On Sunday it collected 12.03 cr whereas on Monday it showed the drop and collected 3.87 cr and further lead to the drop on Tuesday by collecting 3.07 cr.
Overall, it’s an underperformer film coming from Ayushmann as he gave a series of hit films and 100 crore grossers. The film is directed by Hitesh Kewalaya and is produced by Aanand L. Rai, Bhushan Kumar, Himanshu Sharma and Krishan Kumar.
Ayushmann Khurrana shared the screen space with Jitendra Kunar and showcased the same-sex love story and was breaking the norms as it openly talked about the homophobia.
New Friday release Thappad will take the benefit of the underperformance of SMZS and will take away a good share of screens from it. From here, it will be interesting to see if the film can touch 60 crores mark.
