Procedure for SSC CPO, Stenographer, and JHT Selection

Following the submission of Papers 1 and 2, the SSC JHT selects candidates through document verification. Based on their performance in Paper 1, candidates will be shortlisted by category to proceed to Paper 2. Candidates who have passed Papers 1 and 2 will be invited to undergo document verification. The final determination of which ministries or departments to be assigned will be predicated on the candidates’ performance in Papers 1 and 2, in addition to their preferences for particular posts.

All candidates who register for the SSC CPO examination are required to sit for Paper I. Candidates who demonstrate promise in Paper I will be invited to participate in the PET/PST examination. Although mandatory, the PET/PST is qualifying in nature. Only candidates who pass the PET/PST will be granted access to the Paper II examination. Candidates who have achieved satisfactory results in Papers I and II will be invited to participate in the medical examination. Those applicants who pass the medical examination will be required to submit comprehensive documents for verification. The ultimate determination and distribution of personnel will be predicated upon the candidates’ performance in Papers I and II, as well as the posts they indicate a preference for during the document verification process.

The selection procedure includes a skills test and a computer-based examination. Candidates who pass the computer-based examination are invited to participate in the skill test. Although mandatory, the skill test is qualifying. For each position, the SSC will establish category-specific qualifying marks for skill examinations. Merited candidates will be taken into consideration for the final selection process, provided they complete the skill test. The final allocation of candidates is determined by their performance on the computer-based test and the post-preferences they indicate during document verification.
