The Roshans are making top headlines these days and for all the wrong reasons. Ever since Hrithik Roshan ‘s sister Sunaina Roshan has opened up about the unjust that her family is doing with her by not accepting her relationship with a Muslim man she loves, the controversy is rising with each coming day.
Now Sunaina’s boyfriend, Ruhail Amin has opened up about the controversy and Roshan family being against them. He said, “This incident has once again exposed the dark underbelly of identity politics at play in today’s liberal times which are totally uncalled for.”
Earlier in an interview, Sunaina has claimed that she is living in hell and her family is making her life difficult. She had also revealed that she has asked Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel to help her fight for justice.
On Roshan family being against their relationship as he is a Muslim, Ruhail said “This is unfortunate” he added by saying “Labeling someone extremist just because he/she belongs to a certain religion is simply outrageous and needs to be condemned in strongest words.”
The duo first met each other when Ruhail used to cover entertainment for Times Now. He said “We lost touch and reconnected through social media.”
Ruhail said that while he has spoken to Sunaina’s parents once, they were not happy about it. “They did not approve of our friendship,” he said. “I also got to know that her parents put a security ring around her post our friendship, and when she told me about it my first reaction was of disbelief and later a good laugh,” he said.
In an earlier interview, Sunaina confessed falling in love with a journalist last year but her father had slapped her and called Ruhail a terrorist.
On being called upon a terrorist he said “Calling someone a terrorist just because of his identity is unacceptable. Religions and geographies should not become the cornerstones of defining extremism; we need to move beyond that mindset. Most importantly, we need to stand up against ignorant viewpoints, whoever has them.”
Ruhail was asked why there is a problem now even though Hrithik was married to Suzanne who is a Muslim. He said “Everyone can see the irony here”
