The class 10th board exam in Tamil Nadu has been cancelled and students are promoted, Chief Minister K Palaniswami announced on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The examinations for certain class 11th subjects, which could not be conducted earlier were also cancelled.
Coronavirus cases were continuously rising in Chennai and some districts, Palaniswami said adding epidemiologists have opined that there was no scope for reduction in the spread of the infection in a short period of time.
Thereafter, considering the representation of parents and the present condition of virus spread, the board exams scheduled to be conducted from June 15 for class 10 and for subjects that could not be held for class 11 are fully cancelled and students are announced promoted, he said.
