A woman was sexually assaulted in Minjur, Thiruvallur by a self-styled godman.
The case has rocked women devotees who have been visiting the temple over the years. Women used to visit the temple to get rid of their problems. Rajasekar, accused, had been orating prophecies for three years at the temple in a village near to Devadanam village.
Rajasekar promised a newly wed woman that he had the solution to take her out of depression but would tell her only in private and at an isolated location. The woman agreed and went with the accused. The self-styled godman asked her to pray and close the eyes after which he touch her private body parts.
The woman fled the place and filed a complaint to the police at the Ponneri Women Police station. After questioning Rajasekar was arrested and later remanded to the jail.
