Tata Safari set for launch on 26th January 2021; will be most expensive Tata car to be sold in the Indian market

Tata Motors, the country’s leading vehicle manufacturer, has attracted a lot of attention from the recent new safari launch in India. Safari has currently started production at its Pimpri manufacturing facility by Tata Motors. The car will be officially launched on 26th January 2021. It is estimated that Safari will cost more than Tata Harrier. This will make the all-new safari the most expensive Tata car to be sold in the Indian market.

In the new safari, the company has used the same platform as Harrier. Notably, the platform on which the all-new Safari is based is known as OmegaARC, and this platform is taken from the Land Rover D8 platform. Tata Motors has indigenously built this platform to cut costs and optimize it for Indian car buyers. 

The all-new Safari SUV will be totally different than the old model. For example, a monocoque body is being used in this car. While every previous generation of Safari has used the body on-ladder chassis. The previous-generation model was sold with a rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive layout. But the new car will be front-wheel drive. And also, the new Safari will be given the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

As an engine, a turbocharged diesel engine with 2 liters, 4-cylinder will be used in this car. There will be a leather-clad seat, rear AC vent, a touchscreen infotainment interface with navigation, six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill hold, hill dip control, multiple drive mode, corn ABS, self-cleaning brake disc, cruise control, automatic headlamps, wiper, panoramic sunroof, and automatic climate control. Talking about the price, the car could be more expensive than the harrier by Rs 1 lakh.
