Following the declaration of the one -family -one -ticket norm of the All India Congress Committee in the upcoming polls, senior Congress leader of Telangana, Damodar Raja Narsimha’s wife C Padmini Reddy joined BJP on Thursday.
Padmini has been very active in Telangana politics since 2014 assembly elections and was very popular for her social services in the state.
According to state leaders, Narsimha wanted her wife to be given ticket from old Medak district, however after Rahul Gandhi has become president of the party, the AICC has decided not to field age-old leaders and not to give tickets to more than one from a family.
Other than Narasimha, there are many other Congress leaders in Telangana who are willing to field their kin including K Jana Reddy, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Ponnala Laxmaiah, DK Aruna, J Geetha Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, DK Aruna, G Venkata Ramana Reddy, Anjan Kumar Yadav and Uttam Kumar Reddy, who have already expressed their resentments over the norm.
