Popular playback singer, dubbing artist, and TV personality Sunitha Upadrasta got engaged to her close friend Ram Veerapaneni on Monday morning in the presence of family members.
The 42-year-old confirmed her engagement in a heartfelt Facebook post.
She wrote, “Like every mother, I dream of settling my children down well. At the same time I am blessed with wonderful and thoughtful children and parents who always want to see me well settled in life…. the moment has finally come… Ram has entered my life as a caring friend and a wonderful partner.. we both are delighted to enter into wedlock very soon. Thanks to all my well wishers who understand that I keep my life very private. Please support and be with me as you always do.”

Sunitha earlier got married at the age of 19 to Kiran Kumar Goparaju with whom she has two children – Aakash Gopuraju and Shreya Gopuraju. After a rough patch, she got divorced a few years back. In one of her earlier online interviews, Sunitha stated that she has no regrets about getting married to Kiran at the age of 19. She added that she ‘enjoyed every phase of it’ but ‘unfortunately it didn’t work out’.
The singer started her career at the young age of 17. Her commercial singing career began in the year 1995 with the Telugu movie ‘Gulabi’. Other than being a playback singer, she is also an anchor, dubbing artist and actress in the Telugu film industry. She has been the recipient of a National Award from All India Radio under light music category. She has also received 9 Nandi Awards, which is the highest award ceremony for excellence in the Telugu entertainment industry.
