Things to do in Udaipur for a Week:

City Palace

The City Palace is 400 years old and is the biggest palace building in Rajasthan. The palace is full of historical artifacts and was made by architects from many kingdoms. It was the Maharajas’s executive center and home to many rulers. Call it a royal parliament if you want. It’s a popular place for tourists for a reason.

Amar Vilas (has a raised garden), Krishna Vilas, Bhim Vilas, Mor-chowk (Peacock courtyard), Sheesh Mahal (Glass Palace), Dilkhush Mahal (Heart’s Delight), Moti Mahal (The Pearl Palace), Badi Mahal (The Big Palace), Choti Chitrashala (Residence of Little Pictures), Fateh Prakash Palace, Surya Chopar, Amar Vilas (has a raised garden), Krishna Vilas, Bhim Vilas, and many more beautiful buildings are inside the palace complex. Spend a whole day here in the cold month of December and feel real happiness.

Using a boat on Lake Pichola

After a day at the City Palace, go to Lake Pichola to watch the sun go down. The Palace is on the eastern shore of the lake and has a boat service inside it. Don’t miss this lovely sunset. On the other hand, Pichola Lake is near many beautiful places. We recommend you take an extra day to see all of these places: Lake Palace, Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir, Swaroop Sagar Bridge, Gangaur Ghat, and the many hotels and small mahals that are built along the river. We know you want to take it easy from the city, and this beautiful lake is the best place to do it.

The Gangaur Ghat

Gangaur Ghat is a place to spend the night. It is on the shore of Lake Pichola. People from all over the world go to the ghats at night. It gets cold at night in Udaipur, but the view of Lake Pichola at night is worth it. Enjoy a quiet night with your partner, remember the time you spent with friends, or enjoy the peace of traveling by yourself. The city makes everyone feel welcome.

Bagore’s Palace

Bagore ki Haveli is a Haveli from the 18th century that is right on the shore of Lake Pichola and has become a popular tourist spot. After talking to Maharajas and scholars and using traditional building materials, a part of the haveli was turned into a museum. This made it more valuable as a cultural heritage site. A Dharohar Dance Show is held at Bagore ki Haveli almost every evening of the week. You can’t miss this if you’re interested in traditional Rajasthani folk dance and puppet shows. But there are also other parts of the museum, like the Puppet Museum and the guns Section, which shows off different old guns.

The Baahubali Hills

Even though it’s called Baahubali Hills, you have to walk up a hill for 20 minutes to see Badi Lake. From Fatehsagar Lake (5–6 kms), you can either take a taxi straight there or rent a bike or cycle. From Fatehsagar to Badi Lake, the roads are winding and the views are beautiful. The Baahubali Hills are a secret gem that are a nice break from Udaipur’s castles. It’s not hard to walk uphill to peace and quiet.

The restaurants in Udaipur

Many of the city’s well-known places are right on the water because it is called Lake City.

The most well-known for a classic experience is Ambrai, a classy bar and restaurant where you can go on a date by the lake with candles.
For a cheap, real, and local experience, try Chandani at The Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel. As the name suggests, it’s a lively restaurant where you can see the moon reflected on the lake.

You could also visit Sajjangarh Fort (also called Monsoon Palace) and the city’s many beautiful small lakes. Enjoy your time in Udaipur and let it make you feel at home.
