Lot of Opportunities are Available for People of Tribal Community: Today in New Delhi, under the auspices of the Tribal Youth Exchange Programme (TYEP), Shri Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, engages with 200 tribal youth.

The Union Home Minister told the tribal kids he spoke with that there are many opportunities accessible to tribal members today. The fact that Smt. Droupadi Murmu, a member of a tribal group, is the President of India, he claimed, is something to be proud of. According to Shri Shah, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has decided to create 10 tribal museums throughout the nation at a cost of Rs 200 crore in honour of the tribal freedom fighters who gave their lives fighting for the country’s independence.

According to the Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Left Wing Extremists and their ideology are opposed to the nation’s growth and promising future. He claimed that individuals who oppose building roads, cell towers, and other necessary infrastructure in places where left-wing extremism is a problem are impeding the youth’s ability to have a bright future. Shri Shah stated that joining the mainstream of society is vital for growth and the building of fundamental infrastructure since violence cannot create jobs. He went on to say that tribal youth should be crucial in driving out the notion of left wing extremism from the nation. The Home Minister asserts that it is the duty of tribal kids to avoid going down the wrong path and to prevent others from doing the same.

The country is flourishing now in every subject, according to Shri Amit Shah, and there are plenty of chances for tribal people in every field. He advised the youth of the tribes to share this information with everyone back home. He asserted that a person’s life’s work is more significant than their location of birth. He asserted that riches, education, and respect can only be attained through perseverance.

Lot of Opportunities are Available for People of Tribal Community

For the past 15 years, the Tribal Youth Exchange Programme (TYEP) has been run by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the programme is conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS). In accordance with this project, young people from the tribal community who reside in the interior regions most impacted by left wing extremism are taken on a tour of the nation’s major towns and metropolises. These are the program’s primary goals:

  • fostering young people’s aspirations in places impacted by left-wing extremism.
  • countering the CPI Maoists’ propaganda against the government.
  • educating tribal youngsters about industrial growth and advancement while also raising their awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage.
  • strengthening people’s faith in democracy in these places.
  • educating the indigenous community’s youth about important development and welfare programmes.
  • fostering emotional connections between youth from the indigenous community and their peer groups in other regions of the country.

25,880 young people from the tribal community have taken part in the Tribal Youth Exchange Programme between 2006–07 and 2022–23. Of these, 20,700 young people took part over the course of the last nine years, from 2014–15 to 2022–23, and 10,200 young people took part over the course of the last four years, from 2019–20 to 2022–23. 5000 young people, both male and female, are taking part in TYEP this year. Previously, 2000 individuals took part in this program’s art courses annually. That number rose to 4,000 in August 2019 and to 5,000 participants each year by 2022.

In this programme, prominent government officials, great performers in business, the arts, sports, and other fields are invited to interact with the youth. Apart from this, there are also industry exposure trips, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav activities, speech competitions, skill development, career advising, exposure to sporting events, tours of security force camps, and cultural events. Additionally, when these children return to their hometowns, a plan is set up so that they can share their experiences with other children and locals.

This year, 25 groups of young people are travelling around the nation in major cities and metro areas as part of the TYEP programme. There will be 200 young people in each cohort, all from the interior regions most hit by left wing extremism.

This year, three groups will travel to New Delhi, the nation’s capital. 140 people from Bijapur, Sukma, Bastar, Dantewada, Kanker, Narayanpur, and Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh, as well as 60 people from Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh, are part of the first group visiting Delhi from October 15 to October 21.
