Top 3 Compact MPVs Coming to India: Renault Triber is currently the only compact MPV in the Indian market and it churns out decent sales figures every month. The Nissan Triber-based MPV and Maruti YDB Compact MPV will enter the segment shortly.

Suzuki will debut a new product codenamed YDB in this market, while Renault will introduce the next generation of the Triber, spawning a Nissan derivative.

Here are the details of the 3 upcoming compact MPVs in India.

1. New-Gen Renault Triber

Renault has not updated the Triber MPV since it was launched in the Indian market in 2019.

The Triber is currently the most affordable 7-seater on the Indian market. It received a minor feature update for the year 2024 and starts at Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

In 2025-2026, we expect the compact MPV to undergo a generation change.

It is unclear what the new-generation Triber will offer, but it is expected to feature a new design, an updated cabin layout, and a new platform.

2. New Nissan MPV

Nissan Livina For Reference Nissan is set to introduce a new MPV in collaboration with Renault.

A compact MPV based on the Renault Triber will measure just under 4 metres in length, according to reports.

A significant package change is expected from Nissan in order to differentiate it from its Renault counterpart. In terms of pricing, Nissan will likely position it at par with the Triber and will use the same underpinnings and powertrain.

3. Maruti Suzuki YDB

Compact MPV Due on the Indian market by 2026, the new compact MPV from Maruti Suzuki will be positioned below the Ertiga, thus ensuring a competent and affordable price point.

As codenamed YDB, the four-wheeler will be based on the Suzuki Spacia sold internationally. Suzuki R3 Concept For Reference The four-wheeler is likely to measure just under 4 metres in length.

The new MPV is expected to be sold through YDB’s Nexa dealership network in the domestic market and use the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine found in the new-generation Swift.
