Transgender Day of Remembrance 2023: The transgender community has been subjected to a range of mistreatment, including death, for challenging the preconceived notions, beliefs, and stereotypes associated with “male” and “female” identity for generations. November 20 is observed annually as Transgender Day of Remembrance. This holiday is intended to honor, commemorate, and memorialize those across the nation who (often on a daily basis) encounter stigma and discrimination. In addition to advocating for the rights of transgender people, this holiday highlights the ongoing challenges they encounter on a daily basis and encourages others to extend their support, optimism, and affection.

Observing Transgender Day of Remembrance: A Guide
Participate in food drives, candlelight vigils, and film screenings.
Engaging in a vigil allows oneself and one’s peers to pay tribute to the victims of anti-transgender violence. Additionally, to raise funds and awareness for the transgender community, you may organize a food drive.
On March 1
Advocating for the transgender cause through participation in a marathon or walk-a-thon is an exemplary method of both fundraising and showing support.
Advocate for transgender rights organizations
The Audre Lorde Project, Casa Ruby, Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement, and others are among them. Fundraise for local organizations that provide assistance to the LGBTQ+ community, and motivate others to do the same.
