Twitter.com Makes the Switch to X.com: Elon Musk, serial entrepreneur and proprietor of Twitter, has been working on the platform’s rebranding for over a month. His vision for the social media platform is to transform it into a super app, so he wishes to name it X. Numerous Twitter properties, as well as the app’s name and logo, have already been rebranded to reflect the rebranding. The staff is currently working on updating URLs to reflect the new brand identity.

According to The Verge, Twitter.com URLs change to X.com when copied and pasted on iOS. The change is visible when using the share sheet to copy a URL from any tweet or post in the official X iOS application. The URL copied to the clipboard begins with X.com, which is visible when pasted into a programme or web browser.

On our iOS device, we were also able to observe the modification. You can see it for yourself in the screenshot provided below.

This demonstrates that the X team is in the process of altering all Twitter URLs to X. Musk affirmed that X.com now redirects to Twitter.com one month ago. It is the logical next step to ensure that all copied URLs are pasted as X.com in order to facilitate the rebranding.

Elon Musk initiated the rebranding of Twitter to X at the end of July. He began by selecting a new logo, which began to progressively appear on official applications and the website. A number of Twitter properties, including Twitter Blue, were renamed to reflect the transition. The paid subscription service of the platform is now known as X Premium.

Although the rebranding was anticipated following Musk’s takeover of Twitter, it still left many users pondering why the decision was made. The flamboyant entrepreneur stated that Twitter will no longer be merely a social media platform. It will be transformed into a super app that will allow users to perform multiple tasks in a singular location. He stated that X is a better name than Twitter for a programme that is capable of much more.

X has confirmed that the application will shortly support video calling. The confirmation came from the company’s new chief executive officer, Linda Yaccarino. A screenshot disclosed that users will also be able to make audio calls to one another. The company has initiated ad revenue sharing on the platform with eligible verified account users. It recently lowered the requirements necessary to earn money through X. Previously, a user was required to have 15 million impressions in three months; this requirement has been reduced to 5 million. Additionally, the minimum payment threshold has been reduced from USD 10 to USD 10.
