Two Goa Congress MLA resign from the party after meeting Amit Shah in Delhi

New Delhi: The two of the Congress MLA, Dayanand Sopte and Subhash Shirodkar reached Delhi on Monday midnight and met the Bhartiya Janata party national president Amit Shah at his residence in the morning, amidst the speculation of joining BJP.

If the speculation of two Congress MLA joining the BJP is right then it will be a major blow for the Congress party in Goa.

If they join the BJP, it will reduce the strength of Congress in the state assembly and it will come down to 14 from 16.

On the other hand, the ruling coalition of BJP has also 14 MLA’s and the coalition government has 3 MLA’s from Goa Forward Party and Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party each along with the support of independent candidates.

The late night drama at Goa airport has shocked the Congress Goa unit. Goa health minister Vishwajit Rane was also seen at the Dabolim airport catching a Delhi flight. It has also raised doubts and suspicion as the Goa Congress party has alleged him of splitting the BJP into two parts and joining the Congress party.

Vishwajeet Rane, however, denies the claim as per media reports.
