National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) national president Fairoz Khan has reportedly stepped down after slapped with sexual harassment allegations.

According to the reports, Khan, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir, submitted his resignation on Monday.

Last week, Khan was accused of harassing and exploiting at least 5 girls from NSUI. The girl, Adeeba, who took to Twitter reporting the case said that Khan harassed a member of NSUI as well as her sister. She further said that the victim and her sister approached Rahul Gandhi and several other leaders as well.

An NSUI office bearer from Chhattisgarh had in June this year levelled charges of sexual harassment against Khan following which the Congress leadership formed a panel to probe the allegations. She had also filed a police complaint against Khan.

Afterwards, an internal panel was set up to probe allegations against Khan, which submitted its report on Friday.
