Popular cab service app Uber is in the news again and not for good. In the latest incident, a Delhi-based journalist girl reported on Tuesday that an Uber cab driver had misbehaved with her. She posted a series of tweets regarding the behaviour of her Uber driver.
The journalist – Amrita Das – wrote about the rude behaviour of the driver and sought action against him. Das wrote, “Rude and creepy driver. I demand action. First, he refused to turn on the air conditioner, then says garmi lag rahi hai to aage mere godi me baith jao [If you are feeling hot then come and sit on my lap]. He also ended the trip, moments after starting to drive and forced me out. This is when I was with husband.”
Taking cognisance of the tweet, in which Uber was tagged, the transportation agency replied, “We’re so sorry to hear about this. Our team has recently responded via email. Please reply there if you have additional questions.”

Earlier too, complaints were registered against the Uber drivers and due to this, Delhi police and the administration had issued an advisory to the firm regarding the appointment of drivers in the national capital. This is one of several cases against the drivers of Uber. Many women across the world have been raped, molested and mistreated by the drivers. The company, however, doesn’t seem to have taken these cases seriously as they continue to happen.
