UP: 22-year-old streams suicide on Facebook live after girlfriend gets engaged

In an appalling incident, a 22-year-old youth committed suicide and live-streamed the act on Facebook from a temple after his girlfriend’s engagement with another man.  The incident happened in a temple in Raybha village under Achhnera police station in Agra District.

The victim also left a four-page suicide note in which he had apologized his family for his extreme step and urged them to donate his organs.

As per the sources, few of his Facebook friends witnessed the incident live as he had informed his friends and family members about his decision beforehand.

The deceased is identified as Shayam Sikarwar also known as Raj. He was found hanging inside the temple premises by the local residents.

In the four minutes long video, the man asked the police authorities to not to take any action against anyone and also requested his family members to put a few pictures of his corpse on his Facebook account.

The police found during the probe that the man was unemployed and depressed because the girl he was in love with was getting married to someone else. Also, an autopsy was also conducted and the body was handed over to his family.

The family members of the victim had deactivated his Facebook profile by the time the report was filed.
